Testy testing times

Father forgive us for we are sinning - the testing culture is almost punitive it seems, but we can make a difference by being very kind to one another, quick to praise and reluctant to be unkind if we must disagree.

Technology in the classroom?  Yes, by all means - but should we think of it as anything more than a fancy pencil?  Ok, things happen fast in virtuality, but so to in life.

Yes, we are concerned about being civilized, about our students being civilized.

Yes, the distinction between social networks and professional networks is crucial.

But the biggest YES of all is that a prudent, compassionate analysis reveals that 99.99999% of all incivility is reaction to injustice.

We fight each other and scold and judge, but we need to fight the forces that dehumanize, institutionalize, militarize and polarize the People. Nonviolently, of course.

Yeah, yeah.  I know the hippies are all dead or coopted.  But still.
